Joe Biden’s Bureau of Labor Statistics reported over a million new jobs in the second quarter. This is a encouraging statistic that will no doubt help the Democrats in December. The Philadelphia Federal Reserve now says that those millions of jobs were almost entirely fictitious.
Biden’s administration exaggerated its claim that employers created more jobs than 1 million in the second quarter of 2012. This was despite historic job growth, according to a new estimate.
According to the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, job growth was “essentially flat” during the second quarter with only 10,500 jobs created.
Could the Bureau of Labor Statistics have been a politicized agency that fakes numbers to support the Democratic Party? It would have been unbelievable 20 years ago, but we now know enough about the FBI and CIA to see that it is possible for the BLS, which is staffed overwhelmingly of Democrats, to be corruptible. In the heat of the midterm elections campaign, President Biden boasted about second-quarter job numbers. He used the BLS report to prove that the nation wasn’t heading for a recession.
On July 8, Mr. Biden stated that “In the second quarter this year, we created more job opportunities than in any quarter under any other of my predecessors in nearly 40 years prior to the pandemic.”
One problem with perverting the federal government bureaucracy as the Democrats did is that almost everyone loses faith and trust in the integrity of government. There is no reason to believe that the government numbers are accurate or unfudged at this point. Too many times have we been deceived.
It is sad, but it is where we are. Trust has been destroyed.
