The occasion was hailed as” the largest Pride celebration in White House history” by Neera Tanden, adviser to domestic policy.
According to Tanden, there has been a startling increase in violent threats made against LGBTQ community organizations this year. LGBTQ Americans are also being targeted because of who they are, which is discrimination.
A new coordinator in the Department of Education Office of Civil Rights will be in charge of an anti-book ban initiative, according to Biden, who also announced his administration’s new initiatives to protect the LGBTQ + communities.
This” anti-book ban coordinator” will reportedly inform school districts of the negative effects that prohibiting sexually explicit reading material has on LGBTQ children and how it violates civil rights laws.
Our country is experiencing a spike in book bans, and these efforts disproportionately target the LGBTQI + community as well as communities of color, according to one Biden administration official. These aren’t just assaults on LGBTQI + Americans’ rights; they’re all a part of an overall assault on our democracy.
Now, the Democrats claim that outlawing erotic books that ill adults so sorely want our country’s youth to read is a” organized attack on our democracy.”
The DOJ and Department of Health and Human Services will work together on new advisories to assist mental health care providers in supporting transgender youth, and the Homeland Security Department is anticipated to announce a new” focused safety training and resources” for community groups.
In addition, the administration is anticipated to introduce fresh programs to address youth homelessness in the LGBTQ community and to provide care for LGBTQ children in foster care.
Our fictitious” Commander-in-Chief” stood in front of a group of LGBTQ + people over the course of the weekend at an LGBT + event and referred to them as the most courageous group he’s seen” in any time in the recent past.”
