In the search for OceanGate’s missing submarine, a” debris field” has been found. However, it is anticipated that the passengers will soon run out of” lightweight air” or have already done so.
Five passengers on the OceanGate Titan submarine, which was headed to see the Titanic shipwreck, were saved on Sunday as part of the race.
Only one hour and 45 minutes into its journey, the Titan sub vanished, leaving behind no traces of what went wrong and led them to lose contact with its transportation ship.
Since the sub was only expected to complete an 8-hour dive, it officially only had four days’ worth of reserve oxygen on board. The sub formally ran out of its 96-hour supply at 7:08 a.m. on Thursday.
Co-founder of OceanGate Expeditions Guillermo Söhnlein expressed optimism that the sub will be found and the passengers will also be dead in a statement.

As the sub’s life support supplies are beginning to run small, today will be a crucial day in this search and rescue mission, according to Söhnlein.
Guillermo Söhnlein added,” I’m sure Stockton and the rest of the crew realized days earlier that the best they can do to ensure our rescue is to extend the limits of those supplies by relaxing as much as possible. ” I strongly believe that the window of opportunity for their rescue is wider than most people realize.”
The Coast Guard announced at 3 p.m. on Thursday that an underwater remotely operated vehicle( ROV) had discovered a” debris field” on the Atlantic Ocean floor as there was starting to be little chance the passengers would be discovered alive.
” A ROV close to the Titanic found a debris field within the search area.” The Coast Guard posted on Twitter,” Experts within the unified command are evaluating the information.”
