Congress needs to assert authority over government regulations 

The current political climate makes it unlikely that reforms such as the REINS Act, which would give Congress more power over the regulatory state and to regulate itself, will pass. They should also pursue incremental reforms and institutional reforms in order to improve the legislative branch’s ability to oversee regulation.

 In the current political climate, it is doubtful that Republican-controlled Congress will pass reforms like the REINS Act, which would give it more authority over the regulation state. In order to strengthen the legislative branch’s capacity to regulate regulations, they should even pursue incremental and institutional reforms. In the current political climate, it is doubtful that Republican-controlled Congress will pass reforms like the REINS Act, which would give it more authority over the governmental state.
