Local bans on homeless people sleeping in public earn Supreme Court review  

The Supreme Court announced Friday that it would examine whether local laws prohibiting people from sleeping in public places are cruel and unusual punishments prohibited by the Constitution. The Oregon city Grants Pass wrote to the Supreme Court asking it to review a lower-court decision that prevented them from enforcing their public camping ordinance.
