Mind and body: We can’t treat primary care and mental health as disconnected systems

Integrating behavioral and physical health can improve patient outcomes, reduce health care costs and remove the stigma that surrounds mental health.

 Better combining cognitive and physical health care can enhance patient outcomes, lower healthcare costs, and remove the widespread stigma associated with mental health. Improved patient outcomes, lower healthcare costs, and the ingrained stigma surrounding emotional health can all be achieved by better transforming behavioral and physical health care.
