Although the victims ‘ identities have not been made public, the Mississippi National Guard claimed that one was assigned to its A Company 1–149 Aviation Regiment Unit and the other to D Company 2–151 Lakota Medical Evacuation Unit.
The Mississippi National Guard stated,” Our top priority at this time is to make sure proper casualty assistance is carried out to support the surviving family members.”
On 2 p.m., the Mississippi National Guard reported that the two-seat AH-64 Apache was on a routine training flight when it was downed in an area of trees.
The aircraft went down off Highway 30 close to Mount Olive Baptist Church, according to Randy Tolar, the sheriff of Prentiss County, who reported it to NBC affiliate WLBT of Jackson.

The Mississippi crash is the second known Apache accident since an Army-wide aviation safety standdown in April 2023, making it the second Apache crash of the month.
On February 12, an Apache helicopter operated by the Utah National Guard crashed close to Salt Lake City, injuring both the soldier and the Air Force pilot who were on board. Two 16th Combat Aviation Brigade pilots were hurt when their Apache crashed in May 2023 not far from Yakima Training Center in Washington.

The victims were not publicly identified. However, the Mississippi National Guard stated that one was a member A Company 1-149 Aviation Regiment Unit and the other was assigned D Company 2-151 Lakota Medical Evacuation Unit.
The Mississippi National Guard stated that “our primary concern at this time” is to ensure that proper casualty assistance was provided to the surviving families.
The Mississippi National Guard released a statement that said the two-seat AH-64 Apache had been on a routine flight training when it was reported to have crashed in a wooded region at about 2 p.m.
Randy Tolar, the sheriff of Prentiss County told NBC affiliate WLBT in Jackson that the aircraft crashed off Highway 30 near Mount Olive Baptist Church.

The Mississippi crash is also the second Apache crash in this month, and the third Apache accident since the Army’s aviation safety stand-down in April 2023.
A Utah National Guard Apache helicopter crashed near Salt Lake City, Utah on February 12, injuring both the National Guard soldier and Air Force Pilot who were aboard. Two pilots from the 16th Combat Aviation Brigade in May 2023 were injured when an Apache helicopter crashed near Yakima Training Center in Washington.
