On February 18, the Rohr Chabad House at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, which is an extension of the Zionist student organization Chabad on Campus, organized an event featuring a presentation by Oz Bin Nun, an Israeli Fellow with the Jewish Agency for Israel and a former commander in the IDF. Bin Nun was seen in a video acknowledging that the Israeli military is responsible for the deaths of Palestinian children in Gaza, causing a debate on campus about his intentions behind making this statement. However, another surprising revelation from Bin Nun’s speech was overshadowed during the debate: It was suggested that students from the university had assisted in buying drones and protective gear for the IDF. While he was giving his speech, Bin Nun showed videos of Israeli air strikes along with footage of training exercises that he refers to as “preparing for a future conflict in Lebanon.” In one scene, Israeli soldiers are operating a drone in flight.
