According to The Kansas City Star, Cnano Technology had plans to construct a”$ 95 million, 333, 000- rectangular- foot facility in the business park of New Century AirCenter”.
The Kansas City Star reports:
As China and the United States compete for dominance and Russia continues to invade Ukraine, which receives important American aid, the measure is in response to growing U.S. concern about foreign influence. A international aid bill that will result in a ban on Chinese-owned TikTok if the app is not sold was just signed into law by President Joe Biden, according to those who support the Kansas bill.
” This is a very serious issue and if we can get bipartisan support at the federal level for TikTok, we should be able to do it here in Kansas”, said Rep. Sean Tarwater, a Stilwell Republican who chairs the House Commerce, Labor and Economic Development Committee.
In response to concerns about espionage and international interference, the Kansas legislation prohibits citizens and businesses from owning non-residential real estate within 100 miles of any defense installation, along with subsidiaries of Venezuela, Russia, Iran, North Korea, and Venezuela.
Given that Fort Riley near Junction City, McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, and Fort Leavenworth, the radius essentially would apply the restrictions to the majority of the state. At New Century, the Army Reserve is present as well.

” I do n’t have a choice on that. We have a military base that”, state Rep. William Sutton, a Republican, said in support of the legislation.
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP ) was the first to be revealed as the parent company of Cnano Technology USA. According to Daily Caller, the Heritage Foundation Oversight Project and Heritage Action conducted the research, which aided in advancing that investigation.

From Daily Caller:
Within Fort Leavenworth and Whiteman Air Force Base, which are both about 35 miles and 70 miles from the large facility Cnano Technology USA plans to construct in Johnson County, Kansas, a large facility that will house components for electric vehicle batteries and additional products.
Cnano USA is a subsidiary of C- Nano Technology Co., Ltd., a company that China- based Cnano Jiangsu Technology Co. set up in the American Virgin Islands, according to Cnano Jiangsu’s 2022 annual report.
According to Cnano Jiangsu’s 2022 cultural responsibility report, the business employs some dozen CCP members. However, the company’s British- language website says that the firm has “undertaken a number of national 863” initiatives, a reference to a Chinese government- backed program that the U. S. has accused of trying to steal American technology.
Another business documents reviewed by the DCNF revealed that Cnano Jiangsu has seen an increase in the number of CCP employees working for the organization and that the organization has made explicit efforts to advance the CCP’s ideology.”}]] [[{“value”:”

According to The Kansas City Star Cnano Technology planned to build a “$95-million, 333,000-square foot facility in the New Century AirCenter business park.”
The Kansas City Star reports
The measure comes as the United States grows increasingly concerned about foreign influence, as China and the United States vie for dominance while Russia continues to invade Ukraine, which receives substantial American aid. The Kansas bill supporters pointed out that President Joe Biden signed a bill on foreign aid into law which will result in a ban of Chinese-owned TikTok, if it is not sold.
“This is a serious issue and we should be able do it in Kansas if we get bipartisan support on the federal level,” said Rep. Sean Tarwater, who is a Stilwell Republican and chairs the House Commerce, Labor and Economic Development Committee.
Kansas law, with limited exceptions, prohibits citizens, companies, and subsidiaries of China, Russia Iran, North Korea and Venezuela from owning real estate that is not residential within 100 miles of military installations, out of fear of foreign interference and spying.
The radius would effectively apply restrictions to most of the state due to the presence of McConnell air force base in Wichita and Fort Riley near Junction City. New Century is also home to the Army Reserve.

Cnano Technology USA is planning to build a massive facility near Whiteman Air Force Base and Fort Leavenworth in Johnson County, Kansas. The facility will produce components for electric vehicles batteries and other products.
Cnano USA, according to Cnano Jiangsu Technology Co.’s annual report for 2022, is a subsidiary company of C-Nano Technology Co. Ltd.
Cnano Jiangsu’s 2022 social report states that the firm employs several dozen CCP members. The company’s English website also states that it has “undertaken” a number of initiatives under the Chinese 863 program, which the U.S. accuses of trying to steal American technologies.
DCNF also reviewed other corporate materials, which revealed that Cnano Jiangsu’s number of CCP employees has increased in the past few years and that it promotes CCP ideology.
