According to The Press-Enterprise, Jorge Oceguera-Rocha was charged with possession of narcotics for market-purposed purposes and with the intention of distributing, in addition to the possession of a firearm while carrying out a felony, on September 17, 2023. Over 100 pounds of fentanyl was reportedly found inside his vehicle, the outlet reported.
An officer was detained as part of Operation” Hotline Bling,” according to a joint press release from the Drug Enforcement Administration ( DEA ) and the Riverside Police Department ( RPD ) on April 25. This operation was the result of a search into Sinaloa Cartel activities. The officer is not identified. The Press- Enterprise reported that the press release’s description of the admitted crimes resembles those committed by Ocequera- Rocha in some ways.
The cartel is one of the biggest drug- trafficking operations in the world, the U. S. government says, according to the BBC. Due to a well-known Netflix series based on Joaqun” El Chapo” Guzmán’s exploits, it is also one of the most well-known in the world. Following his extradition from Mexico, he is now serving a life sentence with a 30-year sentence in the United States.

Investigators did not provide specific information about how they learned about Oceguera- Rocha’s reported involvement in drug trafficking, but it is now clear that he was the” crooked Riverside County Correctional Deputy” mentioned in a press release praising Operation Hotline Bling, according to the Press- Enterprise.
That operation, which led to 15 arrests and the seizure of$ 16 million in narcotics, was aimed at the Sinaloa cartel’s activity in the Inland Empire.
That cartel was previously helmed by Joaquín” El Chapo” Guzmán, perhaps one of the most popular and powerful drug lords since the height of Pablo Escobar’s empire in the 1980s and early ‘ 90s.

According to The Press-Enterprise, Jorge Oceguera-Rocha, was charged on September 17, 2023 with possession of drugs for market purposes and transportation of drugs with the intent to distribute, as well as possession of firearms while committing a felony. The outlet reported that over 100 pounds of fentanyl were found in his vehicle.
In a joint press release issued by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Riverside Police Department on April 25, a press release states that an officer was arrested in Operation “Hotline Bling” – an investigation into Sinaloa Cartel activities. The officer has not been identified. The Press-Enterprise, however, reported that the description in the press release of the alleged crime closely paralleled the alleged crime of Ocequera-Rocha.
According to the BBC, the U.S. Government says that the cartel is among the largest drug trafficking operations in the entire world. The Netflix series based upon the exploits of former leader Joaquin Guzman has made it one of the most infamous cartels in the world. He is currently serving 30 years of an additional life sentence in the United States after his extradition from Mexico.

The Press-Enterprise reported that investigators did not specify how they discovered Oceguera-Rocha was involved in drug trafficking. However, it is now clear that he is the “corrupt Riverside County correctional deputy” mentioned in the Wednesday press release promoting Operation Hotline Bling.
