Kristi Noem’s Book Includes a Fake Story About Her Meeting Kim Jong Un

Recently, it was revealed that Gov. Kristi Noem, a South Dakota Republican, recounts in her upcoming book a graphic and disturbing story about killing her dog with a firearm. She defended her violence by saying it was a “tough choice” that she had to take. She wrote that the dog had attacked some chickens. “I’m talking about it because I’m worried.

[[{“value”:”after it just became known that Gov. In her upcoming book about killing her puppy with a gun, Republican from South Dakota defended the violence as a” tough decision” she had to make. The dog, she wrote, had attacked some chickens.
Noem said on CBS’s Face the Nation today,” I talk about it because what I’m tired of in this country is politicians who pretend to be who they are not.”
Putting off all of that sarcasm, Noem seems to be resistant to such a posing: it has even recently become apparent that she falsely claimed to have met North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in her book. And she immediately resisted being embarrassed when CBS host Margaret Brennan questioned her about it on Sunday. Noem met the dictator while serving on the House Armed Services Committee, according to the passage that appears to have initially been covered by separate South Dakota news site The Dakota Scout. According to the New York Times, which obtained an innovative copy of Noem’s book, the governor wrote:
I had the opportunity to meet with world leaders in a variety of nations, some of whom wanted our assistance, while others refused. Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea, is the person I recall meeting with. I’m sure he underestimated me, having no clue about my experience staring down little tyrants ( I’d been a children’s pastor, after all ). Dealing with unusual leaders takes resolve, preparation, and determination.
Noem’s representative acknowledged to The Dakota Scout that the publisher will be updating the book to address” conflated world leaders ‘ names” before its release, despite the fact that it does not appear to have stated who Noem could be referring to when contacted about the anecdote. ( On Sunday afternoon, the spokesperson did not respond to questions from Mother Jones. ) Noem, to, refused to clear things up when Brennan confronted her on air.
” Did you meet Kim Jong Un”? Brennan asked.
” Well, you know, as soon as this was brought to my attention, I certainly made some changes and looked at this passage. And I have met with some, some world leaders. I have visited numerous places. As soon as it was brought to my attention, we went ahead and have made some edits”, Noem replied, adding that “people will have the updated version” when the book is released Tuesday.
You did n’t meet Kim Jong Un, then, so why? That’s what you’re saying”, Brennan pressed.
Noem continued, saying that she had met with “many, many world leaders,” before adding that she was” not going to talk about my particular meetings with world leaders; I’m just not going to do that.”
” This anecdote should n’t have been in the book”, Noem continued. ” And as soon as it was brought to my attention, I made sure that that was adjusted”.
Eventually, Brennan tried to clarify how Noem could have probably made such an error, asking,” who is it that you confused Kim Jong- un with”?
Noem had no answer, after, she blasted Brennan as part of the “fake news media” and criticized her for interrupting her throughout the interview.
Noem seems to be quoting from the title of her book, No Going Up, when it comes to admitting her mistakes.
