In a typical country, these small actions to encourage civic duty may not receive much attention. However, these are not typical circumstances, and the United States is not an average nation. The individuals leaning towards authoritarianism believe that Swift and Kelce are the new Colin Kaepernick, considered to be the disruptors of football in their pursuit of being “woke.” Similar to Kaepernick, who was forced out of the NFL for protesting injustices against the Black community, this influential couple is also vulnerable to criticism from those who are always looking for something to be upset about.
