President Trump and AG Bill Barr jointly announced a huge bust of MS-13 gang leaders including one charged with terrorism crimes.
The sweep saw dozens of MS-13 leaders get busted in an effort to break the back of possibly the most dishonest gang this side of the Democratic party.
The operation has been ongoing for a year now with the arrests taking place over the last few days.
MS-13 is best known for the sheer brutality of the murders they commit, many against minors. They have been known to torture their victims before finally finishing them off.
President Trump has long held the position that MS-13 needed to be dealt with while high profile Democratic leaders such as Nancy Pelosi took him to task over calling them animals. Pelosi said MS-13 members have a spark of divinity.
One of the leaders, Melgar Diaz has been charged with providing material support to terrorists and aiding in terrorism in Eastern Virginia. He stands accused of being behind crimes in 13 states and is said to have ordered assassinations personally. AG Bill Barr says it is the first time that terrorism charges have been used against MS-13.
Other MS-13 members were charged with crimes ranging from racketeering related offenses, charges related to multiple murders and attempted murders, kidnapping, narcotics and weapons charges.
One member, Alexi Saenz has been charged in the murders of seven people including two teenage girls.
Between January 2016 and July 2017, 40% of all murders in Suffolk County, New York were somehow connected to MS-13.
When Trump declared at a White House roundtable, “You wouldn’t believe how bad these people are. These aren’t people. These are animals,” he was clearly referring to MS-13. But the media and Democrats took the president’s quote out of context and declared that he had referred to all illegal immigrants as animals. The Associated Press tweeted that “Trump referred to those crossing US border illegally as ‘animals.’ ” The New York Times tweeted, “Trump lashed out at undocumented immigrants during a White House meeting, calling those trying to breach the country’s borders ‘animals.’ ” Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) declared, “When all of our great-great-grandparents came to America they weren’t ‘animals,’ and these people aren’t either.”
Only the modern day Democratic party would have the chutzpah to defend the monsters of MS-13.
