” Julian Assange is complimentary. He left Belmarsh Maximum Security Prison on the morning of June 24 after a boarding school for 1901 days it. He was released at Stansted airport in the afternoon, where he boarded a plane and left the UK. He was given bail by the High Court in London and was released. This is the result of a worldwide campaign that stretched grass- roots organisers, press freedom campaigners, legislators and leaders from across the political spectrum, all the way to the United Nations. This gave rise to a protracted period of negotiations with the US Department of Justice, which ultimately led to a deal that has n’t yet been officially concluded. We will provide more information as soon as possible,” Wikileaks wrote.
” After more than five years in a 2×3 metre cell, isolated 23 hours a day, he will quickly reunite with his wife Stella Assange, and their children, who have only known their father from behind bars. The strong are held accountable for their actions by WikiLeaks, which is the publication of groundbreaking tales of government corruption and human rights violations. As editor- in- chief, Julian paid heavily for these principles, and for the people’s right to know. As he returns to Australia, we thank all who stood by us, fought for us, and remained absolutely committed in the fight for his freedom. Julian’s freedom is our freedom, “it added.

Per NBC News:
According to the court documents, Assange was charged with conspiracy to obtain and disclose regional defense information as a result of criminal information, which usually translates into a plea deal. According to a letter from a Justice Department official to U.S. District Judge Ramona Manglona of the Northern Mariana Islands District, Assange would make a plea deal with the Justice Department on Wednesday at 9 a.m. local time ( 7 p.m. ET Tuesday ) and that the Justice Department anticipates Assange’s return to Australia, his country of citizenship, after the proceedings.
One of the largest publications of classified information in British history occurred during President Barack Obama’s second term, leading to U.S. accusations against Assange. Assange and a defense intelligence analyst named Chelsea Manning conspired to use his WikiLeaks website to release tens of thousands of activity reports about the war in Afghanistan, hundreds of thousands of reports about the war in Iraq, and hundreds of thousands of State Department cables and assessment briefs of detainees at the U.S. detention camp at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, beginning in late 2009.

From The Hill:
The WikiLeaks founder was on his way to enter a plea deal with the U.S. government that will free him and settle the legal case that stretched years and continents over the publication of a trove of classified documents. A plane that is believed to be carrying Julian Assange made its landing in Bangkok on Tuesday.
Chartered flight VJT199 landed after noon at Don Mueang International Airport, north of the Thai capital. According to airport officials, the plane was just in Bangkok for refueling and was scheduled to leave for Saipan, the capital of the Northern Mariana Islands, a U.S.commonwealth in the Western Pacific, on Tuesday night native time, where he will appear in court.
According to the U.S. Justice Department in a letter filed in court, he is expected to plead guilty to an Espionage Act charge of conspiring to fraudulently obtain and disseminate defined national defense information.
After entering a plea and receiving a sentence, Assange is expected to return to his native Australia. The hearing is taking place in Saipan because of Assange’s opposition to traveling to the western U. S. and the court’s proximity to Australia, prosecutors said.”}]] [[{“value”:”

“Julian Assange has been released.” He left Belmarsh Maximum Security Prison on the morning of June 24th, after spending 1901 days there. He was granted bail at the High Court of London, and released at Stansted Airport in the afternoon. He then boarded his plane and left the UK. This is the culmination of a global movement that included grass-roots activists, press freedom campaigners and legislators from all political spectrums, up to the United Nations. This opened the door to a long-term negotiation with the US Department of Justice that led to a deal which has not been finalised. Wikileaks said that it would provide more information as quickly as possible.
“After spending more than five long years in a cell measuring 2×3 metres, he is now reunited with his wife Stella Assange and their children who only knew their father from behind prison bars. NBC News
Documents from the court state that Assange is charged with conspiracy to obtain national defense information and disclose it. This criminal information is typically a plea bargain. In a letter sent by Matthew McKenzie, a Justice Department official, to U.S. district judge Ramona Manglona in the Northern Mariana Islands district, Assange was told that he would appear before the court on Wednesday at 9 am local time (7 pm). The Justice Department expects Assange to return to Australia after the proceedings.
The U.S. charges brought against Assange are a result of one of the largest releases of classified information ever made in American history. This occurred during President Barack Obama’s first term. According to the government, Assange and Chelsea Manning, an analyst of military intelligence, conspired to use WikiLeaks in late 2009 to release tens of thousand activity reports about war in Afghanistan, hundreds thousands of reports on war in Iraq, hundreds thousands of State Department cable and assessment briefs for detainees in the U.S. prison camp at Guantanamo, Cuba.

From the Hill:
A plane believed to carry Julian Assange landed in Bangkok on Tuesday, as the WikiLeaks co-founder was on his way into a plea agreement with the U.S. Government that will release him and resolve the legal dispute that spanned continents and years over the publication of classified documents.
Chartered flight VJT199 arrived after noon at Don Mueang International Airport north of the Thai Capital. The Associated Press reported that the plane had only been in Bangkok to refuel and was scheduled for departure Tuesday evening to Saipan, capital of the Northern Mariana Islands (a U.S. Commonwealth in the Western Pacific), where he would appear in court on Wednesday morning local time.
According to a letter filed by the U.S. Justice Department, he is expected to plead to an Espionage Act accusation of conspiring to obtain and distribute classified national defense information in an unlawful manner.
Assange will return to Australia after his sentencing and plea. Assange refused to travel to the continental U.S., and the court is located close to Australia.
