Soda Additive Banned By FDA, ‘No Longer Considered Safe’

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration ( FDA ) announced on Tuesday that it is revoked the law that permits the use of brominated vegetable oil ( BVO ) in food. A vegetable oil modified with bromine is known as “brominated vegetable oil ( BVO ). After the findings of studies conducted in collaboration with the National Institutes of Health ( NIH), the FDA came to the conclusion that the intended use of BVO in food is no longer considered safe, according to the FDA. The deadline for the rule is August 2nd. ” BVO is a chemical ingredient containing bromine, which is found in fire retardants. In some citrus-flavored beverages in the United States, smaller amounts of BVO are officially used, according to NBC News.
