Subpoenas Finally Authorized For Top Of The Chain Obama Administration Coup Conspirators

Finally!  Long-suffering supporters of President Trump may view this as Senate Republicans finally taking to the offense against those who plotted to overthrow our duly-elected president.

With less than seven weeks until the 2020 presidential election, it’s more likely the authorization of subpoenas for a slew of Obama administration officials is for show rather than being done with any expectation of exposing the corruption that led to the attempted removal of President Trump.

Among the subpoenas voted on this morning by the Senate Homeland Security Committee include subpoenas for former CIA Director John Brennan, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, former FBI Director James Comey,

But there’s a slew more, causing one to doubt that there’s any realistic way of interrogating this many wrongdoers prior to the election.

Among those the committee also authorized subpoenas for are Sidney Blumenthal, former Obama chief of staff Denis McDonough, former FBI counsel Lisa Page, former FBI agent Joe Pientka, former ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power, former FBI director of counterintelligence Bill Priestap, former White House national security adviser Susan Rice, former FBI agent Peter Strzok, former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith (he falsified a document that was exculpatory to Carter Page), former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, DOJ official Bruce Ohr, FBI case agent Steven Somma, former U.S. Ambassador to Russia John Teftt, former deputy assistant attorney general Tashina Gauhar; and Stefan Halper (an informant believed to have been run at members of the Trump campaign in an attempt to incriminate themselves.)

James Baker of the Pentagon’s Office of Net Assessment may also face questioning since the department he oversees was responsible for payments in excess of $400,000 to Halper for “research.”  This level of compensation is an outsized amount of money to pay an ‘academic’ for research.

Beyond the Obama administration officials, and the corrupt DOJ and FBI operatives, the Homeland Security Committee also authorized subpoenas to the FBI to produce all records related to the baseless Crossfire Hurricane investigation.  Good luck with that.

The FBI stonewalled similar subpoenas from the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence when Republicans controlled it for the first two years of the Trump administration.

Now, with only 48 days remaining until the election, we’re expected to trust FBI Director Christopher Wray to move quickly.  Please be a realist.

Remember, it was earlier this week that the Republican controlled Senate Select Committee of Intelligence denied a request from the Homeland Security Committee for their records related to the Russia hoax.

Of course those records were denied… the SSCI was a participant in the attempt to remove President Trump.

As the clock runs, there’s a possibility the sudden movement by Republicans – Lindsey Graham’s Senate Judiciary Committee has also authorized the issuance of subpoenas – is their hand being forced by indictments potentially pending from USAO John Durham.

After four years of Democrats manufacturing every possible scam to deride and remove President Trump, Republicans can’t appear to have failed to defend their most popular GOP president since Ronald Reagan if that.
