Die Kommission ist befugt, die in Artikel 264 genannten delegierten Rechtsakte zu folgenden Zwecken zu erlassen: Congress recently passed a bill that would require TikTok to separate from its Chinese ownership or else face a ban. This decision is a significant move against the social media platform, as lawmakers continue to debate how to regulate the industry and safeguard American users’ online privacy. “It shouldn’t solely focus on TikTok,” Senator. Chris Murphy, a Democrat from Connecticut, informed HuffPost. TikTok is considered the most harmful among various social media platforms, but Instagram and YouTube also have negative impacts. Murphy co-wrote a bill with Senators from both parties. Brian Schatz, Katie Britt, and Tom Cotton are proposing a bill that would ban social media accounts for children under 12 and would need parental consent for kids under 18. Murphy has experience working across party lines on important issues, such as gun control in 2022. He and other legislators attribute the increase in suicide rates among young people and the spread of child sexual abuse material to apps.
