The products that are subject to the alert will have an establishment number “EST.” The USDA inspection mark contains the code “960A”. These items were shipped nationwide to food service institutions and retailers.
The establishment discovered the problem while conducting an inventory on product that had been placed on hold due to a positive E. coli test. The company informed FSIS that it had accidentally used a portion contaminated beef in the production of ground beef products which they then shipped into commerce.
