Senate Passes Bill That Could Ban TikTok In The U.S., Sends To Biden

President Joe Biden is anticipated to promptly sign the legislation, which contains essential aid for Ukraine and humanitarian support for Gaza. His approval of it will initiate a countdown to the possible TikTok prohibition. TikTok is widely favored among the youth, but politicians from both sides have expressed worries regarding its national security and data protection. Senator clarifies that Congress is not seeking to penalize ByteDance, TikTok, or any specific company. Maria Cantwell, a Democrat from Washington and the head of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, made a statement on the floor of the Senate. Congress is taking measures to stop foreign enemies from engaging in spying, surveillance, malicious activities, and harming vulnerable Americans, military personnel, and government officials.
