While Georgia has just received all the attention, Democrat Attorney General Kris Mayes in Atlanta is getting ready to accuse original President Trump and his allies of undermining her party’s victory. According to a spokesperson for the attorney general, Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes’ office is still looking into an alleged attempt to use different electors to support former President Donald Trump after the 2020 presidential election.
Arizona is one of the seven states that Trump lost in 2020, but where it is claimed that his allies tried to sway the electorate in a dishonest manner. It is unclear the length of the investigation, its status, or its scope. Democrat Mayes spoke about the investigation for the first time in public on Wednesday.
Willis and Bragg were bad enough, but AG Kris Mayes ordered an investigation even though her own election is being contested.” We’re taking this investigation very seriously, very solemnly ,” he said to local media this week. She allegedly won that election by just 280 votes, but it is still up for appeal. Mayes is active pursuing her social rivals, including some in the state, for challenging an election while the election appeals process is ongoing and dragging on. Cochise County, which refused to certify her” win ,” has already been the subject of Mayes’ investigation. The Cochise County Board of Supervisors is under investigation by Attorney General Kris Mayes for alleged violations of state empty meeting laws.
Mayes, a Democrat, informed supervisors that she had received” numerous” complaints about alleged open meeting violations in an email she sent to the GOP-led board on July 31.
The complaints go up more than a year and seem to line up with several election-related decisions the board made after the 2022 General Election, such as the decision to sue the county’s elections director by Democratic supervisors Tom Crosby and Peggy Judd.
Mayes issued a warning that she would pursue legitimate repercussions for those infractions, which might include removing supervisors from their positions. I have no idea who would take their place in Mayes’ banana republic plan. Even though it is much more serious than anything in any of the indictments— from Obama to Biden to state and local AGs and DAs like Mayes— investigating your political opponents to eliminate the political opposition has gotten away with it. Arizona law enforcement officials have even investigated Kelli Ward’s activities as a phony elector and past Arizona GOP chair. Prosecutors have questioned potential witnesses regarding a December 2020 signing ceremony where Ward and 10 other Republicans incorrectly attested to being Arizona’s reasonable electors, according to Rolling Stone, who reported next week. Mayes claims to have won her seat by 280 votes, so why doesn’t she only say that she’s looking into it and imprisoning the whole Arizona GOP? The tyranny of the slimmest majority round is being able to outlaw and imprison your political opposition because you received 280 more votes. If those are the innovative regulations, Mayes might want to think about what might happen if she loses the appeal or fails to use the legal system to terrorize and intimidate her opponents, forcing her to face a Democratic Attorney General with more power.
A spokesperson for Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes confirmed that the office is investigating an alleged attempt to manipulate alternate electors to benefit former president Donald Trump after the 2020 presidential elections.
Arizona is one of the seven states where Trump lost in 2020, but where Trump’s allies are alleged to have attempted to create a fraudulent list of electors. The investigation’s status, scope, and length of time are not known. Mayes, a Democrat from New York, made her first comments about the investigation Wednesday.
This election, which she supposedly won by 280 votes, is still being appealed. The election she won by only 280 votes is still being challenged.
In a letter to the GOP-led Board on July 31, Mayes warned supervisors that she had received “numerous complaints” of alleged open meetings violations.
The complaints go back over a year and seem to coincide with the various election-related decision made by the board after the 2022 General Election, including a move from Republican Supervisors Tom Crosby & Peggy Judd suing the county’s elections directors.
Mayes warned she would pursue penalties under state laws for these legal violations, which could include removing supervisors from their offices. I can’t imagine what Mayes’ banana-republic scheme would look like. Arizona law enforcement officials are also investigating the activities of former Arizona GOP Chair Kelli Ward, who acted as a fake voter. According to Rolling Stone, prosecutors are asking possible witnesses about a signing ceremony in December 2020 where Ward and ten other Republicans falsely swore to be Arizona’s electors. Why doesn’t Mayes announce that she is investigating and locking up the Arizona GOP since she claims to have gained her seat by 280 more votes? Mayes should consider the consequences if the new rules are implemented. If she loses her appeal or fails to intimidate and terrorize her opponents through the legal system and has to face a Republican Attorney General, she may want to reconsider.
